Method: Observational. Results: The findings in the research reflect that among participants (HIV positive pregnant women on ART) who were educated and employed, disclosure and levels of knowledge of ART were good. However, some of the participants were still not adhering to ART. The findings in this research reflect that among participants (HIV positive pregnant women on ART) who were educated and employed, disclosure and levels of knowledge of ART were good. However, some of the participants were still not adhering to ART. Therefore all ART health care providers to put much effort on counseling to clients on the importance of adherence to ART drug compliance, disclosure of status, dispersion of ART drugs to HIV positive clients at any health facility when they have travelled HIV positive clients to have time reminders on when to take their drugs and also early treatment of side effects. Conclusions: In this study, most HIV positive pregnant women on ART were educated, employed and disclosed their HIV status, though some still do not adhere to ART. Factors leading to non-adherence among HIV pregnant women on ART had a tendency of forgetting ART, cultural beliefs, or being away for some time, on-availability of pills, fear of stigmatization, drunkenness from alcohol, and lack of finance to go to the clinic. There is need for continuous community awareness campaigns in order to educate the communities about HIV/AIDS, the PMTCT programs and ART, and need too for extensive training of healthcare providers concerning the administration. The small sample size of the study limits generalization of the findings to other regions in Malawi. General conditions 1.
