Ma Tianjin Second People’s Hospital, Tianjin, China General data Abstract category: Ageing and frailty Abstract body Purpose: Antiretroviral therapy (ART) prolonged the lifespan and decreased the mortality in HIV infected population, but many people could not achieve good immune reconstitution. The influence of poor immune recovery and non-AIDS diseases combination in advanced aged HIV-infected patients during ART is not well defined. Method: A retrospective study was conducted at Tianjin Second People’s Hospital to evaluate the prevalence of INR and non-AIDS diseases combination in 666 HIV infected patients aged≥60 years, with virological suppressed after 2 year ART. The study included population who initiated ART between August 2009 and December 2020. Results: The prevalence of INR was 29.6% in all included patients. The percentage of non-AIDS diseases such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, tumor and chronic kidney disease (CKD） was 32.9%, 9.9%, 31%, 4.1% and 13%, respectively. Besides baseline CD4 counts, CVD and tumor were associated with increased poor immune reconstitute in elderly Chinese HIV-1 infected patients, the adjust odd ratio (95% confidence interval): was AOR2.45 (95% CI: 1.22–4.93) and 3.06(95% CI: 1.09–8.56, p = 0.03). INR was also associated with higher mortality (AOR: 2.83, 95% CI: 1.42–5.67, p = 0.003) in this special population. Conclusions: Appropriate drug selection at ART initiation and prevented non-AIDS complication during ART might be effective in decreasing mortality rate and INR in elderly HIV infected patients.
