However, the situation changed around July 2022 when the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Mpox a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC) due to several outbreaks. Notably, the composition of confirmed cases shifted from primarily imported to local cases in Taiwan in 2022, and an endemic outbreak occurred ever since April, 2023. Considering Mpox is a sexually transmitted infection (STI), our study aimed to identify other risk factors among the high-risk population of men who have sex with men (MSM) in Taiwan. Method: This retrospective observational cohort study using electronic medical records from April to June 2023 at one HIV-care hospital to identify the individuals with Mpox and other STIs. The subjects were divided into two groups: those with confirmed Mpox and those without. Fisher's Exact Test and logistic regression analysis were employed to compare the two groups and calculate the odds ratio. Results: Twenty-two individuals with Mpox and eighty individuals with at least one STI without Mpox were identified. Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences in HIV status, sexual orientation, recreational drug abuse, gonorrhea, or having more than two STIs between the groups (Table 1). It is crucial to educate patients about the increased risk of contracting the disease when engaging in multiple sexual partnerships, regardless of their sufficient CD4 counts. Awareness and preventive measures should be emphasized to minimize the spread of Mpox within this vulnerable group. General conditions 1.
