Published clinical and epidemiological data on MSM undergoing anonymous testing for STI in Ukraine are sparse. The objective of this study was to conduct a comparative analysis of clinical and epidemiological data of HIV and STI testing conducted at Checkpoint Cologne, Germany and Wellness Center/ChP L’viv, Ukraine (UA) among community members. Method: From January 2021 to December 2021, data on STI screening, clinical, demographic, sexual information was anonymously recorded for individuals attending the Wellness Center Odessa and AHF L’viv Checkpoint, Ukraine. Visitors were screened for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis C and B using point of care testing kits. Positive tests were validated. To compare characteristics between clients UA and DE non-parametric Chi-square test was used for univariate analyses. Results: During the study period 1038 MSM consultants aged 15-80 years attended the UA and 5040 MSM the DE checkpoints. The positivity rate of screenings for HIV among clients of UA was significantly higher 2,89% (n= 30/1038) vs 1,11% (n=56/5040) for clients of DE checkpoint, p=0.001. HCV-positivity was detected at similar rates between countries – 0,19% (n=2/1038) and 0,04% (n=2/5040) for UA and DE, respectively. Syphilis was diagnosed 4 time higher among persons in UA – 6,65% (n=69/1038) vs 1,75% (n=88/5040) in DE, p=0.001. Only 4,7% clients UA reported taking PrEP compared to 96% MSM of annual number of visitors DE. Conclusions: This study shows that characteristics of MSM in Ukrainian Wellness Center/ChP L’viv are different from clients of Checkpoint Cologne, Germany. Based on our results different approaches for STI testing and medical supervision should target among MSM in Ukraine who are at higher risk getting HIV, syphilis, and insufficient PrEP involvement.
