Successful ART is driven by adherence, compliance, and therefore acceptability. The objective of the CONCERTO survey was to determine the impact of oral ART packaging on dispensing, adherence, and the daily lives of PLWH. Method: From 06/2022 to 06/2023, 62 HIV physicians were recruited in France and asked to offer a 35-item questionnaire to 10 consecutive PLWH during their routine medical visit. Included PLWH had to have been on the same oral ART for over two years. Results: The survey was completed by 539 PLWH whose characteristics are presented in Table 1. ART was taken once daily in 95%, as a single tablet in 79%, packaged in a bottle in 72%, and in blister packs in 23%. ART dispensing was monthly for 81% of respondents, of whom 46% found this frequency constraining; 83% would like to go to the pharmacy less often. Although 84% of respondents found it easy to take a daily pill at a fixed time, 48% reported imperfect daily adherence to ART, the main reason being simple oversight. For respondents, blister packs made it easier to take the treatment every day (88% vs 49%, respectively, p<0.001), and were felt to be more discreet (72% vs 50%, respectively, p <0.001) and less ‘HIV connotated’ (73% vs 49%, respectively, p<0.001) compared with bottles. However, bottles were perceived as easier to handle than blister packs (89% vs 77%, p <0.01).
