This new packaging can potentially improve compliance to therapy, facilitating traceability of daily medication, and optimize clinical outcomes. Also, its portability and greater discretion can reduce the stigma associated with ART. Method: An observational study was conducted on 90 PLHIV in two Portuguese hospitals. The evaluation was performed using HIV Treatment Satisfaction Questionnaires Status (HIVTSQs) and Change (HIVTSQc), regarding a period ≥6 months while using Biktarvy® in bottles and a period ≥6 months while using Biktarvy® in monthly blisters with a weekly calendar, respectively. Additionally, five questions were specifically developed for this assessment (presented in the table below). The packaging of this medication helps me remember that I need to fill up more medication (it's time to renew the prescription). I don't like the way this medicine is packaged. Additional question to be answered at the time of ≥6 months while using Biktarvy® in monthly blisters: I am more satisfied with this medicine package format than the previous, in a plastic bottle. Results: The study population consisted of 17 (18.9%) women and 73 (81.1%) men, from 21 to 79 years old (mean ± SD: 43.3 ± 11.5). Most subjects were receiving ART for 1-5 years (52.2%), had no detectable HIV viral load (82.2%), and a CD4 T lymphocytes count of > 500 cells/mm (80.0%). HIVTSQs had a mean score of 5.5 ± 0.5, with scores ranging from 4.2 to 6.0. HIVTSQc had a mean score of 2.3 ± 0.9, with scores ranging from -0.9 to 3.0. Together with the specific assessment, these results show a statistically significant increase in treatment satisfaction of PLHIV with the use of monthly blisters with a weekly calendar (p <0.01).
