ACCESS FACILITIES
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN BASEL
The city of Basel and the surrounding area has
an excellent public transport network known for
its punctuality, short waiting times and modern
vehicles. If you stay in a hotel in Basel, you will
receive the free Mobility-Ticket at the hotel, which
gives you unlimited use of all public transport in
and around the city for the duration of your stay.
The reservation confirmation is valid for the use
of public transport (2nd class), from EuroAirport
or from the Basel rail stations (zones 10 and 13/
EuroAirport), to the hotel on the day of arrival.
ARRIVAL BY PLANE
Only a 15-minute drive from the city centre,
Basel’s EuroAirport is served by a number of
international airlines, including low-cost carriers.
Together with the neighbouring Zurich Airport, it
enjoys connections to all European airports and
to more than 200 intercontinental destinations.
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL):
Zurich Airport (ZRH):
A shuttle bus runs between Basel’s EuroAirport and
the city centre (bus number 50, final stop “Bahnhof
Basel SBB”) - journey time: 15 minutes.
A taxi to the city centre costs approximately
CHF 40, and to the Congress Center Basel
approximately CHF 45.
From Zurich Airport to Basel: from the SBB railway
station inside Zurich Airport, there are several train
connection possibilities to Basel SBB main railway
station.
To the congress centre from the airport:
From the airport take Bus No. 50 to Basel’s main
railway station (Bahnhof SBB) - journey time 15
minutes. At the railway station change to tram
No. 2 to Messeplatz - journey time 10 minutes.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN
All of Basel’s stations have trains arriving either
from within Switzerland or abroad several times
per day. Trains from France arrive at the French
Railway station (SNCF), which is located directly
beside the Swiss Railway station (SBB). Trains from
Germany arrive either at the Swiss Railway station
(SBB) or at the Badische Bahnhof, which is operated
by German Railway (DB) and is located close to the
trade fair centre.
Way to the congress centre by public transpor-
tation:
From the Swiss Railway station (SBB) and French
Railway station (SNCF) to the congress center: take
tram no. 1 or 2 direction “Messeplatz / Exhibition
Square”; travel time 10 minutes.
From the German Railway station (DB) to the
congress center: take tram no. 2 or 6 direction
“Messeplatz / Exhibition Square” - travel time:
5 minutes or 15 minutes on foot.
ARRIVAL BY CAR
Basel is located close tomajor Europeanmotorways
running both north-south and east-west and is
therefore easy to reach from all you
are using the Swiss motorway network, you will
require a vignette (driving tax sticker), which can be
purchased at all customs offices, post offices, petrol
stations, garages, department of transportation
offices and Basel Tourism offices for CHF 40.
